Lawton, OK – Oklahoma Youth For Change (OKYFC), a youth-led organization based in Southwest Oklahoma, is launching a new public event series called American History Nights, beginning Friday, October 3rd.
These free, community-organized gatherings are designed to bring young people and local residents together for open conversations about the stories that have shaped our country – stories that risk being forgotten or overlooked.
American History Nights is our way of proclaiming history and promoting civic engagement – especially among young people.
Each session will feature guest speakers, interactive discussions, and Q&A, connecting key moments in American history to today’s most pressing social and political issues. The goal is to encourage youth to not only learn – but to lead – especially by participating in the democratic process.
The first event will feature guest speaker, a longtime advocate for civic education and community involvement.
